About the Alternative     Learning Lane

The path to identifying the different routes necessary for students to achieve goals in the 21st century is a challenge to educators. The balancing act between funding, limited resources, student needs, time constraints and even space limitations can all add up to roadblocks for both students and educators. Jeannine J. Lane founded the Alternative Learning Lane to build a bridge between the traditional and non-traditional learner.

The Alternative Learning Lane was established in the 2000-2001 school year.  Since it’s origination, the Alternative Learning Lane has served over 600 students.  These are students that successfully achieved their goals and graduated with their high school diploma.  Since the year 2000 there have been thousands of courses completed, thousands of credits recovered and thousands of smiles exchanged. 

Alternative Learning Lane acknowledges the different styles of learning and addresses these needs by utilizing state-of-the-art computerized curriculums, Virtual Learning courses, the most recently published textbooks, job-site apprenticeships and one-on-one personal instruction.
