Functional Life Skills

For some, going on a shopping trip, using basic literacy skills, understanding what to do when seeing a warning sign or transitioning from school to work are very difficult tasks.  Functional Life Skills system provides easy-to-understand information that allows learners to become more capable of functioning independently in their homes, schools, communities and workplaces.   This system increases a learner's ability to make appropriate choices. Gaining functional literacy, social, life and work skills allows for freedom and independence. These programs are for anyone trying to become more functionally independent in our society.

 

Features of the Functional Life Skills System include:

 

  • Multimedia software (live action video and human-quality audio) in adult format

  • Corresponding print exercises to reinforce learning (approx. 100 hours of print, individual and group activities per program)

  • Pre-Assessment in both print and software formats

  • Post-Assessment

  • Closed Captioning

  • Options to adjust program to level of learner

  • Two levels of audio: one very basic and one more advanced

  • User results can be viewed and/or printed
